MEET AND GREET

AFA SPORTS, the official jersey sponsor of the national women basketball team, D’Tigress organizes a meet and greet this Saturday 1st September at the newly opened AFA STORE, Africa’s number one sports shop situated at the heartbeat of Lagos in Victoria Island.

Stakeholders, sponsors and fans of the game will have the opportunity to meet and greet the adorable, beautiful and talented queens of Africa one on one.

It will be recalled that the D’Tigress defeated all comers to lift the trophy at the FIBA Africa Women Championship in August, 2017 just over a year ago. That qualified them to represent the continent at the forthcoming Women World Cup in Tenerife, Spain from the 22nd September 2018 through 30th September, 2018.

The team led by Texas A&M star Adaora Elonu are currently in camp in Lagos where they are intensifying preparation for the World Cup.

The team will compete against Australia, Turkey and Argentina at the group phase of the championship.

TEAM NIGERIA DEPART FOR COTONOU

The Nigerian National 3 on 3 basketball team will be representing the country at the sub regional stage of the FIBA 3 on 3 championship in Cotonou, Republic of Benin. The two days event will tip off tomorrow 16th August.

Nigeria will compete against West African power houses Ivory Coast, Mali, Ghana, Burkina Faso. The event will determine who will represent Africa at the next 3 on 3 World Cup. Nigeria was at the last World Cup in Philippines earlier this year.

AFA Sports is the official jersey sponsor of the 3 on 3 National Teams.

The team is also supported by AMK foundation which has been championing 3 on 3 basketball at the collegiate and amateur levels in Nigeria.

    AFA SPORTS has been confirmed as the official Jersey sponsor of the Nigeria Female National Team, the D’Tigress for the FIBA Women Basketball World Cup.   The championship will be held in Tenerife, Spain from September 22-30, 2018. Meanwhile the team is in Atlanta, Georgia preparing for the tournament.   It is noteworthy to mention that the D’Tigress are the current Afrobasket Women champion. They are in Group “B” of the tournament alongside Argentina, Turkey and Australia.   The team is coached by former NBA coach Sam Vincent who handled the team when they lifted the Afrobasket Women championship in Mali in 2015. He will be assisted by Shomala Shola and Peter Ahmedu.
